In these strange times I have sought escape by walking round my local area and photographing as many mini beasts, butterflies etc as possible. We are very fortunate to be in such a good area with a lake and woods near by. Here are a few of the better images.
I went to London in November with Reigate Photographic Society to see the ceramic poppies at the Tower of London. Plus we photographed some reflections in buildings for this seasons set subject.
It was a cold day with mixed lighting, the poppies were the hilight and well worth the visit.
Some of the poppy photos are on Flickr London Poppies 2014
Philadelphia Zoo have used (with permission) one of my harvest mouse images. It is displayed in their small mammal house, I view it as free advertising.
I have received 2 trophies from the Reigate Photographic Society for having the most points in the Projected Digital Images and the Print competitions over the year.
Reigate are a small but friendly club and they are holding various activities over the summer months.
Saturday 26th May is a photographic challenge held at the Weald and Downland Musuem in Singleton, West Sussex. I intend to participate as the museum is holding a Heavy Horse event over the weekend, so 2 passions to be indulged horses and photography.
Some of the images from Flickr, haven’t decided which to put in the competition. The day was extremely sunny with lots of shadows and some very dark and light horse combinations to photograph.

In August they are participating in a family photographic day at Gatton Park in Reigate, I will be helping with the wildlife photography.
In September I have offered to help at a National Trust/Surrey Wildlife Trust event at Leith Hill near Dorking, I will be offering photographic advice to those who want to learn more.
One of my butterfly images has been selected for the 2011 Royal Photographic Society Nature Group exhibition. No awards but it is a foot on the ladder, must now spend time taking better images to send in for my ARPS Distinction. Essex Skipper (Thymelicus lineola)
